Ouch!
Great people and assholes everywhere...We've got all types out here--from the far left loonies to the far right nutjobs. Rainbow children to John Birchers.
Midwesterner from birth and heritage, Californian since '64, I love NorCal.
When Jer was playing theaters back east, he was playing The Keystones in the Bay (like 30 or 40 shows a year). When he was at the Spectrum and the Garden, he was at the Warfield out here. Don't forget Winterland, Kaiser, Greek, Frost, BCT, Cal Expo, Ventura, Laguna Seca...
The "Emerald Triangle" in Nor Cal produces some seriously kind produce.
Speaking of produce, Cali can't be beat. How fresh are the fruits and veggies in the market in NE this time of year? And what do they cost?
I'll put the Mendocino coastline up against any other 50 mile stretch of coastline anywhere.
I don't want to do a my state is better than your state, but I do want to defend California...We don't all suck out here.
And our (us here in the forum) favorite band is the most quintessential California band of all time (with apolgies to Brian Wilson).
So there! Neener, neener!

I probably skew a little loonie myself. Or is that screw a little loonie? Whatever...(I hope MY Diane doesn't read this! No offense, honey!)
I had to step up--only SOME of us are members of the asshole club out here! Especially those from San Mateo who find themselves "stuck" in the big valley (I'm from SM too, Rasta, and live in Sack-a-tomata)

I only lived in San Mateo for my first year of life-heh.
Went to dancin at Orphan Annes (right across the San Mateo bridge) in the early 80's though -a brief disco phase-lol
Stockton is the butthole of Sac....I do enjoy 650KSTE AM
from Sac though. Also on sports radio- The Carmichael Dave show

I remember Orphan Annies!
I have a buddy who used to work at 650AM. He's now at KFBK-the local giant talkie. Both of those are a bit to the right of my leanings. I finally got a CD player for my truck this Christmas--so I'm cranking the GD (and others) instead of listening to sports talk (or the dreaded Air America!)
Cali Rocks! (Stockton notwithstanding--hey, it's better than Turlock!)
